WHAT IS THE ULTIMATE GUATEMALA CHALLENGE?
It is our annual fundraising adventure where attendees get to partake in three unique challenges (Hiking up a Volcano, trekking through cornfields, and paddleboarding the lake) across Guatemala.
This open water challenge will take you to across the majestic Lake Atitlan, where we will paddle in the lake’s deep blue-green waters until we reach the town of San Juan La Laguna - the finish line! You’ll also get the chance to swim & cliff dive!
Summit Acetanango! This remarkable volcano towers above the landscape at 13,041 ft / 3,976 m, which makes it the third-highest volcano in Central America. Camp within view (and earshot!) of the very active Volcan Fuego.
Explore the amazing Mayan territory world in a hike through Guatemalan to get to the amazing Lake of Atitlan.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I JOIN THE CHALLENGE?
You can expect a lot of fun!
To ensure you have a good time, we’ve taken care of all the details: food, lodging, activities, and transportation* - all of which are included at no extra cost! All you need to do is show up ready for an adventure!
* Transportation within Guatemala.
BUT IS IT SAFE?
Your safety is our top priority. This is why we have put in place specific measures to safeguard the health of all participants.
We take safety very seriously, and will be doing everything in our power to create a safe and fun adventure for all involved!
WHO AM I SUPPORTING WHEN I JOIN THE ULTIMATE GUATEMALA CHALLENGE?
Our goal, as a team is to raise enough money to fund the “Healthy Mommy & Me initiative” in 2024, which combats malnutrition and is a lifeline to over 120 mothers and their babies.
The program includes pre/postnatal vitamins, nutritional supplements for underweight babies, educational workshops, clinic visits, and emotional support groups for new mothers.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost of the challenge is $700 (which covers shuttles, hotels, guides, and food). We are asking each challenger to try to fundraise an additional $3,000. But, if you achieve your fundraising goal, ODIM will cover part of your registration, which means you only have to pay $500 to participate!
All proceeds from the challenge support the Healthy Mommy & Me program.
